For the typographic hierarchy project, we had to make a composition using the bibliographic text from the book "The Black Experience in Design: Identity, Experience and Expression". The purpose of this assignment was to get us familiar with how the hierarchy of type functions. We worked with only the type at first, and eventually got to type with image. I chose a photograph of paint splashing because I felt it resembled how black artists are finally making a splash in the design world. It also works because paint is a common
tool used by artists.
